Overheating

Loud and hot? Time for a clean and fresh thermal paste.

Nine times out of ten, an overheating console or laptop is years of dust buildup and dried thermal paste. A proper cleaning and repaste brings most devices back to stock temperatures. For PS5s, liquid metal replacement is the next step up.

Our Process

From dust to liquid metal

Full dust clean

Fans, heatsink fins, air intakes, PCB. Compressed air alone does not cut it — we open the device up and clean it right.

Fresh thermal paste

Old paste dries out and stops transferring heat. New quality paste on the CPU/GPU restores stock thermal performance.

PS5 liquid metal replacement

When paste is not the right answer. PS5s use liquid metal from the factory — it can dry, shift, or pump out over the years. Restores stock temps and noise.

Fan replacement

If the fan itself is failing (grinding, wobbling, dead), we source and replace it. Add 2 days for the part if we do not have your specific one.

Heatsink replacement

Rare but sometimes needed — clogged, damaged, or corroded heatsinks get swapped out.

Laptop thermal service

MacBook or Windows laptop throttling and hot? Same principle — dust clean and new thermal paste bring most laptops back to normal.

Add-On Service

Doing anything with a PS5? Add liquid metal.

If we are already opening your PS5 for any reason — HDMI port, dust clean, fan swap, anything — the liquid metal replacement is a minor add. Ask for it at drop-off. Not just for overheating repairs.

FAQ

Common questions

What devices do you fix for overheating?

Gaming consoles (PlayStation, Xbox, Switch) and laptops. Both suffer from the same core problems: dust buildup, dried thermal paste, worn thermal interface material.

What is your typical process?

Step one: full internal dust clean. Step two: fresh thermal paste on CPU/GPU. For PS5s where those two are not enough, step three is liquid metal replacement. Most devices come back to stock temperatures and noise levels after step one or two.

What is liquid metal replacement and why do PS5s need it?

The PS5 uses liquid metal — not thermal paste — between the APU and the heatsink. Over the years, that liquid metal can dry out, pump out to the sides, or shift. Replacing it restores stock thermal performance. It is available as a service on its own or as an add-on to any other PS5 work we do while the console is already open.

How long does an overheating repair take?

Dust clean and thermal paste: usually same-day. Liquid metal replacement on PS5: same-day or next-day. If the fan itself needs to be replaced and we need to order the specific fan, add 2 days for the part.

Do you offer a warranty?

Yes — lifetime coverage on the part we installed and our labor on that repair, for as long as you own the device. It does not cover new damage (drops, liquid, cracks after pickup) or problems not caused by our part or our work. Warranty repairs jump to the top of our repair list.
